Congratulations to Wemyss Struss

Mrs Wemyss Struss

We are delighted to announce that our president, Mrs Wemyss Struss, has been awarded a Royal Historical Society of Victoria Award of Merit at the RHSV Annual meeting today.

Wemyss is seen here with out new gate, brand new path and brand new lamp. over many years she has led the society with grace and warmth, growing it to one of the most vigourous and active in the region. During that time Wemyss was instrumental in the Society gaining freehold ownership of the church building it now occupies, then constructing a shed for storage and display. The team she led then totally rejigged the exterior, first with a side fence, then a magnificent front fence, and most recently with paving and features such as a period lamp.

The Award of Merit is a great honour, but very well-deserved.

She will be delighted to see as many of our friends as possible for the Stratford Village Faire this coming Sunday. Come along and join us for our exhibition of children's toys, Shire of Avon items and "Old Photos in the Back Room".
